An authorised legal wedding celebrant can conduct a legally binding marriage ceremony in Scotland. An independent celebrant who isn't authorised can create a personalised symbolic ceremony, but the legal marriage must be completed separately. As a TLC Legal Marriage Officer, I can bring both the legal and personal elements together in one ceremony.scription text goes here

Yes! Scottish traditions such as handfasting and sharing a quaich can be lovely additions to your wedding ceremony. I can help you include these in a way that feels natural and meaningful to you both.

Both partners must submit marriage notice forms, known as M10 forms, to the registrar responsible for the area where the wedding will take place. These can normally be submitted up to three months before the wedding and must reach the registrar at least 29 days beforehand, along with the required supporting documents. I'll guide you through the celebrant side of the process, while the registrar handles the legal marriage paperwork.

My fee for a personalised legal wedding ceremony is £495. As a TLC Legal Marriage Officer, I can conduct your legally recognised wedding ceremony in Scotland, creating a celebration filled with love, laughter and personal touches. Statutory marriage registration fees and any applicable additional charges are separate.

Both Humanist celebrants and TLC Legal Wedding Celebrants can conduct legally recognised wedding ceremonies in Scotland, provided they are authorised to solemnise marriages.
The main difference is the approach to the ceremony.
Humanist weddings are based on Humanist beliefs and values and are generally non-religious.
As a TLC Legal Marriage Officer, I offer a flexible, personalised approach that isn't tied to Humanist beliefs. Your ceremony can reflect your own values, personalities and traditions, with the option to include meaningful religious or spiritual elements if you wish.
Whether you want something romantic, relaxed, traditional or full of fun, love and laughter, I'll work with you to create a legal wedding ceremony that feels completely yours.
Funerals and Celebrations of Life
-
A funeral celebrant works closely with families to create and deliver a personal funeral service that reflects the life, personality and memories of someone special.
I take time to listen to your stories, understand what made your loved one unique and create a meaningful farewell that feels right for your family.
-
Absolutely. Many families choose to have a traditional religious funeral or burial but would also love the opportunity to celebrate their loved one's life in a more personal and relaxed setting.
A Celebration of Life can take place immediately after the religious service, following the burial, or even weeks or months later.
It's an opportunity to bring family and friends together to share memories, stories, favourite music, laughter and perhaps a few tears.
As your celebrant, I can create and lead a warm, meaningful celebration that reflects your loved one's personality and the special place they held in everyone's hearts.
You can honour your religious traditions and still have a personal Celebration of Life. One doesn't have to replace the other.
-
A Celebration of Life doesn't have to take place in a crematorium or funeral chapel.
It can be held in a hotel, function suite, community venue, private garden or another suitable location that holds special meaning for your family.
Whether you're planning a small, intimate gathering or a larger celebration, I can help create a ceremony that feels personal, uplifting and memorable.
